Our story begins more than thirty years ago, when in 1985 Justin HandmanZ “L, after more than a decade of experience as a designer of geotechnical instrumentation, decided together with his wife Shoshana to set up his own business and found the company ELSIM SRL.
ELSIM begins to deal with the development of geotechnical instruments, designing both the mechanical part and the electronic part of its products, directing more and more towards the automation of monitoring systems.
The growing demand creates new opportunities for the expansion of the staff, so in 1987, still a mechanical engineering student, Y. Busel entered as a freelancer to deal with the mechanical design and shipbuilding of the company.
In 1990, ELSIM is in charge of monitoring for the Caramanico landslide in Abruzzo and the work is entrusted to Y. Busel, who designs and creates an “Automated inclinometer system”. Thanks to this innovation, the following year the project was presented at the “I National Conference of Young Researchers in Applied Geology” of the University of Milan.
In 1992 the Handman family moved abroad by closing the company. Y. Busel therefore grasps the opportunity to continue the work of ELSIM and opens the SIM STRUMENTI which today develops instrumentation with the aim of making geotechnical, structural and environmental monitoring ever simpler and faster, continuously searching for innovative solutions.
Nowadays SIM STRUMENTI implements complete monitoring systems, supplying both the sensoristic part, that of acquisition, transmission and processing of data, providing customized software.
