Settlement measurements in embankments .
Description
The DS855 depth fixed extrude meter has been designed for the detection of vertical settlements or horizontal movements through repeated measurements over time, detecting variations in displacement relative between reference rings.
The system consists of: one or more probes connected to each other by a rope or a rigid rod (both in stainless steel), a inclinometer tube, a suspension head, magnetic rings and a reading control unit.
The extrusion probe is consisting of two wheel-carrying trolleys and a magnetostrictive sensor.
The metered electrical cable for connection it is equipped with a marine grade outer sheath and a kevlar core which guarantees the reliability of the readings even in the long term.
The inspection tube is equipped of grooves that facilitate the sliding of the probe inside the tube, while outside the magnetic rings are installed at a distance of 1m from each other, which serve to ensure good grip to the surrounding land. Finally, the tube is made integral with the surrounding ground by means of cementation.
