PRODUCT DETAILS
Applications
Measurement of water turbidity in wells , reservoirs , canals , rivers etc.
Description
The WQ442 meter is a compact and robust instrument suitable for measuring turbidity in groundwater and surface water.
In accordance with USEPA method 180.1 for measuring turbidity, the turbidity sensors are 90-degree nephelometer scatter sensors. The turbidity sensor directs a focused beam of light into the monitored water. The light beam reflects off particles in the water and the resulting light intensity is measured by the turbidity sensor’s photoelectric detector, which is positioned at 90° to the light beam. The light intensity detected by the turbidity sensor is directly proportional to the turbidity of the water. According to EN27027 and ISO7027, 860 nm infrared light is used as the light source, which cannot be disturbed by the chromaticity of the samples.
A card converts the signal into a 4÷20mA output, directly proportional to the turbidity of the water.
Every sensor is provided with a calibration certificate that attests the results of the test performed and all electromechanical features.
